Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As a packaging engineer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing the packaging designs of different products. You will work with our other designers and cross-functional team members on various projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
By partnering with cross-functional teams, customers and suppliers, you will create and develop effective designs to create packaging that’s functional, cost-effective, and fits a project’s brief. in a creative environment that requires proven organization skills and the ability to execute a creative vision. Set design requirements based on the information from the Sales team and the client’s Complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testing Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials, and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions Identify new product improvement opportunities Modify and revise existing designs to meet changing customer preferences Present product design ideas to cross-functional teams and management Work closely with suppliers, sales, operations, and sourcing Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage Work with the manufacturing department to ensure that the packaging designs are optimized for manufacturability Develop Engineering and Manufacturing Specifications

Understanding process improvement, quality improvement concepts is a plus
Qualifications
Develop various packaging concepts in coordination with other departments and graphic designers
Work with material vendors to source the ideal packaging materials
Use CAD software to design secure and space-optimized packaging
Design internal partitions, void filler, or other internal features
Liaise with branding and graphic design ateam to ensure the packaging solution is visually appealing
Test and assess the performance of multiple prototypes and iterations
Implement the packaging solution into the company’s production and fulfillment process
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, packaging science, graphic design, or another relevant field.
Demonstrable skills with computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant programs.
